Among the sinuous hills of Vicoforte and Montaldo Roero, a wine journey between tradition, innovation and unique soils to explore.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div> <\/div>\n

In Vicoforte<\/strong>, a town known for its historic, majestic and imposing sanctuary, just a stone’s throw from the Langa Moregalese, our vineyards cover an area of 4 hectares<\/strong>, where we have devoted special attention to the cultivation of nebbiolo<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This ambitious idea took shape thanks to work done together with agronomy expert <\/strong>Dino Bevione and winemaker Sergio Molino, with the goal of exploring the potential<\/strong> of growing at a higher altitude<\/strong>, at 500 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was created through collaboration with Massimo Martinelli<\/strong>, a friend and influential<\/strong> figure in the history of wine in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>

A passionate storyteller, able to tell the stories<\/strong> he experienced during the early stages of the development and growth of this fascinating industry in theRatti company<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Massimo was looking for someone who could take care of this vineyard, and so an idea became first a suggestion, then a bet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One hectare of the land is already dedicated to growing Nebbiolo, and since last year we have been carrying out maintenance work<\/strong> to ensure its optimal growth. 2023 is the first year of production<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

A land bathed in opportunity, in every sense of the word <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The distinguishing characteristic of this area is the higher frequency of rainfall<\/strong>: as it lacks coverage by hills, cold currents from the mountains<\/strong> have free passage, creating a wetter condition<\/strong> than in the Langhe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In these increasingly hot and dry summers, the Vicoforte soil represents a challenge<\/strong> but also a hope and a new frontier<\/strong> in the future of viticulture in Piedmont.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We planned to include some Pinot Noir<\/strong> vines in addition to Nebbiolo. Currently, we are working on planting the new rooted cuttings<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, our vineyard is prone to hailstorms, an element of bad luck that requires special attention<\/strong>, but our wine adventure in Vicoforte<\/strong> continues to evolve, driven by passion and determination<\/strong> to make the most of the unique characteristics of the land<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Our mission in producing fine wines goes beyond Barolo<\/strong>, embracing a variety of labels<\/strong> from different wine areas<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the commune of Montaldo Roero<\/strong>, we grow nebbiolo on an area of 3 hectares. Here, our vineyards benefit from ideal conditions<\/strong> that impart unique aromas and flavors<\/strong> to the wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of this vineyard<\/strong>, from which we derive our Langhe Nebbiolo<\/strong>, is worked exclusively by hand<\/strong>: it is 6000 meters of very steep vineyard<\/strong>, with narrow rows <\/strong>where it is not possible to pass with tractors <\/strong>and farm vehicles<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>

All work and treatments are done exclusively by hand<\/strong>, a laborious and loving dance between rows of<\/strong> around 70 years old<\/strong>, which <\/strong>always give satisfactory harvests <\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The special properties of the Roero’s sandy soil <\/strong>provide ideal conditions for the vine<\/strong>, allowing the roots to penetrate deeply, absorb nutrients<\/strong> and impart typicity and distinctive aroma to the wine. A combination of natural factors that come together in perfect harmony<\/strong>, creating a Nebbiolo that enchants the most refined palates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
